PORT ANGELES – Ballots will be mailed today for the August 4th primary.
54,371 ballots will hit the mail as voters winnow down a number of races statewide and locally.
Locally, both 24th District House races have more than two candidates running. Voters in the Sixth Congressional District will also choose among a handful of candidates looking to represent the area in the US House of Representatives.
There are also more than two candidates in a race for Clallam PUD commissioner.
Statewide, there are multiple candidates for state-wide offices, including a closely watched governor’s race.
Under the state’s rules the top two vote getters advance to the general election regardless of party.
Voters must have ballots postmarked or returned to an official ballot drop box by August 4th.
Clallam County residents have until Monday, July 27 to register online or by mail, transfer their voter registration from another Washington county, or update their current voter registration.

New Registrations and updates can be made in person at the Clallam County Auditor’s Office until 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2020. The office is shut down through due to the COVID-19 restrictions, so you are asked to call first and make an appointment.
