PORT ANGELES – A Port Angeles woman died, and her husband was severely injured in a motorcycle accident east of Port Angeles.
It happened about 3:15 yesterday afternoon in the 400 block of O’Brien Road. Clallam County Sheriff’s deputies say 63-year-old Sharron Currie died at the scene after the motorcycle she was riding hit a vehicle that had apparently turned in front of the motorcycle.
Currie’s 64-year-old husband, Michael Currie was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center.
Deputies say the case is still under investigation. Witnesses say it appeared the Currie’s motorcycle was traveling at a reasonable speed in the 35-mile an hour zone when the other driver turned in front of them.
The name of the vehicle driver has not been released.
