Two arrested after search of PA apartment

PORT ANGELES – Two people were arrested on drug charges after a search for stolen items at an apartment in Port Angeles.

About eight yesterday morning, the Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team (OPNET) served a search warrant in the 2400 block of South Francis Street. The case began when OPNET received information the apartment contained stolen jewelry from a burglary that occurred in Clallam County.

Investigators say there were three adults and one small child in the apartment at the time.

OPNET seized suspected stolen jewelry, a substantial amount of cash, approximately 5.5 ounces of methamphetamine (approximate street value $15,000), approximately 2.6 grams of heroin, three handguns, a rifle, and a shotgun.

25-year-old Jesse R. Haynes and 20-year-old Katyn L. Flores were booked into the Clallam County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver within 1000 feet of a designated school or school bus stop. Haynes faces a possible firearm enhancement.

The small child was taken into protective custody.
