PORT ANGELES – With a week to go until the primary election, about 18.5% of Clallam County ballots have been sent in for counting.

Through yesterday, the Clallam County auditor’s office reported just over 10,000 of the 54,555 ballots sent out had been returned.

Locally, voters are winnowing down the candidates that will head to the general election in races for Clallam PUD, both state house seats, US Congress for the district as well as a long list of candidates for statewide offices.

Ballots must be postmarked or returned to an official drop box by this Tuesday.
