TOUTLE, Wash. (AP) — There’s a tragic story out of Cowlitz County in southwest Washington today, in which a two-year-old child was killed after falling off of the lawnmower being driven by the child’s father.
The man was mowing his yard in the town of Toutle with a zero-turn mower and had the child riding with him. Deputies say the child fell forward off the mower and his father wasn’t able to catch him. The mower ran over the child before the father was able to stop. First responders said the child died immediately from the injuries. The body was turned over to the coroner’s office and no other details have been released.
