DETROIT, Ore. — Fire officials say at least 13 fires that may have grown and merged into the deadly Beachie Creek Fire in Oregon were started by downed power lines.

According to an incident report, those fires started in forested areas about 30 to 50 miles east of Salem during last week’s historic windstorm.

The fires have swept through forested areas and all but destroyed the small towns of Detroit and Talent, Ore. At least two people have died in the wildfire.

In the meantime, several companies are still working to restore power to different areas after the windstorm.
