Screws on roadway stall I-90 motorists

SNOQUALMIE, Wash. (AP) — Multiple motorists ended up with flat tires after a truck lost a load of wood screws on Interstate 90 near Snoqualmie Pass.

Trooper John Bryant says hundreds of screws spilled across the eastbound lanes of the freeway at around 1 p.m. Sunday, and many cars pulled over to the shoulder in the relatively remote area after their tires were flattened.

Bryant says it’s a reminder of how important it is to be sure everything in your vehicle is secured. The truck that lost its load kept going and was not caught.

Tow truck drivers were kept busy as others changed their own tires, and a road crew did their best to clean up as many of the screws as possible.
