PORT ANGELES – Sixty four percent of Clallam County voters have now returned ballots ahead of next Tuesday’s general election.

According to statistics from the Clallam County Auditor’s office, just under 37 thousand of the 57-thousand ballots mailed out for the general election had been returned by yesterday afternoon.

Jefferson County is leading the state in ballot returns. Through yesterday, nearly 74 percent of ballots had been sent back.

Statewide the return rate is at 60 percent.

Voters have until Tuesday to get ballots returned to an official ballot drop box or postmarked.

You can still register to vote through election day. That must be done in person at the Clallam County Auditor’s office at the courthouse. The auditor has set up a table outside her office, which is closed due to COVID-19 restrictions, to help people register.
