PORT ANGELES – Clallam County Superior Court is shutting down all jury trials for at least another month.

The move comes in response to the rise in COVID-19 cases locally.

Judge Brent Basden today issued a ruling bumping any jury trials that were set to start this Monday through January 13th to after middle of next month.

Bench trials will continue as scheduled.

Courtrooms will remain open, but the court is encouraging remote appearance for all hearings if possible.

Basden had already ordered a stop to jury trials. The original pause was set to expire in the coming week.
