Seattle – (KONP staff) Four men from across the Pacific Northwest were indicted this week for federal hate crimes and making false statements in connection with a 2018, racially-motivated assault.
44-year-old JASON DESIMAS of Tacoma, JASON STANLEY of Boise, RANDY SMITH of Eugene and DANIEL DORSON of Corvallis, are charged with aiding and abetting one another, as they punched and kicked a Black man and making derogatory comments about his race at a bar in Lynnwood.
The indictment also charges the defendants with assaulting two other men.
In addition to the hate crime charges, the indictment charges each defendant, separately, with giving false statements to the FBI during the investigation.
The hate crime charge carries a maximum penalty of ten years in prison. The false statements charge carries a maximum penalty of five years.
