SEQUIM – 2 people were killed and 2 others are hospitalized following a head-on collision Saturday on Highway 101 near Sequim’s East Washington Street onramp.
The Highway Patrol reports that 2 women died after their car crossed the center line and smashed into an oncoming vehicle at about 1:30 pm. The names of the deceased were being withheld at the time of their report until next of kin could be notified, only saying that the driver was a 40-year-old female.
The 2 injured occupants of the other car were 62-year-old Thomas Cain of Poulsbo and 61-year-old Sandra Metro of Sequim. Both were airlifted to Harborview in Seattle.
Traffic in both directions was stopped for 6.5 hours.
