One of two puppies stolen near Joyce is home safe

By Pepper Fisher

JOYCE – Happy news today for one of two pet owners who’s puppies were stolen last week in the Joyce area.

With the help of the Sheriff’s Office, lost pet advocates Pet Posse, a social media blitz and a notice aired here on KONP, Jim Buck says his 4-month-old Labrador retriever named Flint has been found.

“Apparently, the message that we put out was, ‘Put him in a safe place where somebody can find him and we’ll call it good’. And they left him at the end of a road out here in Joyce, and Steve Worth was driving is dump trucks through the area and saw the dog, and pick him up. And the dog promptly ate Steve’s lunch and then went to sleep in his lap while he was trying to drive.”

A relieved Buck says he put 400 miles on his truck’s odometer in the last 6 days looking for Flint.

Still missing is Vadar, a 8-month-old black lab, after being taken from his yard on Tuesday last week.

Both Buck and the other dog owner, who do not know each other, reported a similar suspicious compact pickup in the area at the time the dogs went missing. It’s described as white with possibly a stripe of blue paint along the side.

If you know of someone who has received or purchased a black lab pup in the past week, please contact the Sheriff’s Office or Clallam County Pet Posse.
