PORT ANGELES – No one can stop the brave folks who show up every New Year’s Day on Hollywood Beach in Port Angeles to take the Polar Bear Dip into the frigid harbor water, but sadly this year they’ll be doing so without the added benefit of raising donations for the Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County due to Covid-19 restrictions on large gatherings.
VHOCC Development Director Julie Kramer says that doesn’t mean you can’t still donate to this very worthy cause.
“We greatly appreciate the support of all the participants from the Polar Bear Dip. If individuals, because they’re not able to participate this year, would like to to help our organization, you’re certainly welcome to do so anytime on our website at VHOCC.org. They can make a donation to support this organization, which has been in the community for about 42 years. We’re very grateful to have the support of our past participants of the Polar Bear Dip, and look forward to their participation in 2022 for this event, which we love so much.”
