WASHINGTON DC – This area’s Congressman is calling for the removal of President Donald Trump.
Sixth District Congressman Derek Kilmer yesterday called for Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment.
Kilmer joined fellow Democrats from the Washington state delegation U.S. Senator Patty Murray, Congresswoman Suzan DelBene, Congressman Rick Larsen, and Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal in support of invoking the 25th Amendment after a mob of pro-Trump supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol before Congress voted to certify the results of the 2020 presidential election.
The 25th Amendment allows for the president to be removed from office by the vice president and a majority of the cabinet.
Democrat Joe Biden will be inaugurated as the next President in less than two weeks.
