Sequim Superintendent steps down

SEQUIM – Sequim Schools’ Superintendent Rob Clark has resigned.

The school board will officially accept the resignation in a special meeting today (Friday).

According to a release yesterday on behalf of the school board, the embattled Clark and board have a “disagreement over Dr. Clark’s style of management and decision making”. It states Clark has elected to resign in the best interests of the district. The board plans to hire a search firm to hire a new superintendent. Interim superintendent Jane Pryne will remain in the post until the end of June.

Clark had been on administrative leave since November after the school district received an employee complaint. The school district has refused multiple public records requests for more information about the complaint.

High School principal Shawn Langston was also the subject of undisclosed employee complaints. Langston was reinstated last month after agreeing to mediation.
