PORT ANGELES – Clallam County’s unemployment rate jumped in December after falling for two straight months.
According to state figures, the county’s unemployment rate climbed to 8.4 percent in December. That’s up from November’s 7.2 percent. About 340 more people filed for unemployment benefits in December compared to November.
December 2020’s rate is two and a half percent higher than December of 2019.
Jefferson County’s unemployment rate climbed two tenths of a percent to 6.2 percent last month.
