PORT ANGELES – Congratulations to Port Angeles High School Athletic Director Dwayne Johnson, who just received the prestigious Gareth Giles Memorial Award for the 2020 school year. The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association recognized Johnson for his leadership and dedication.
The WIAA is divided into nine districts across the state. We’re in the West Central District 3, which covers Clallam, Jefferson, Thurston, and Pierce Counties.
Johnson will be recognized during the PASD Board Meeting on Thursday, February 11th, and if it’s safe to travel, he’ll receive his award in person during the WIAA Athletic Director’s meeting in June.
Known simply as “Coach” to students, Johnson said he was “…humbled with the body of work that has been recognized by my peers across the state and nation.”
