The online registration for vaccines being offered by the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe on Feb. 2, 4, and 6 was a big success, with slots filled up in 30 minutes when the website went live at 9:00 this morning. 2,172 people were enlisted to be vaccinated on those days.
As for the Port Angeles events, EOC Coordinator Anne Chastain says they were registering people all day, including those without internet who were calling in. But as of about 2:30pm there were no more openings.
“We have more dates available. Sequim was just doing it for a specific weekend, so it was just three days worth of vaccinations and we have multiple weekends that we’re doing. So that’s why we’re able to absorb a little bit more. And it’s my understanding that Jamestown is going to move to…they’re going to be adding additional days as they move forward. So if somebody didn’t get in to Jamestown today, keep watching that site and keep checking it, because we will be adding more days and they will be able to get in eventually.”
The Port Angeles events were being scheduled through February 21, with more opportunities to be announced.
It’s important to know that if you have an appointment written on the vaccination card you received after your first shot, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO MAKE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT for the second shot. You should have received your appointment date and time for February.
Chastain added on more message:
This is really important for people, and there is a high level of stress. And if everybody can just remember that we’re all trying to make this work, we’re all working as hard as we can. You know, we don’t want to leave anybody out. Eventually you’ll get your vaccine and we’ll get it done as quickly as we can.”
