PORT ANGELES — The National Weather Service says expect some lowland snow this week.
About an inch of snow could fall along parts of the north eastern Olympic Peninsula Tuesday into Wednesday.
And the chance of more widespread lowland snow remains in the forecast through the end of the week.
Forecasters say cold air moving through the Fraser Valley could kick up “Strait effect” snows, making the north side of the Olympic Peninsula especially susceptible to some accumulation.
That cold air will mix later in the week with some moisture moving in, bringing the wider snow threat.
Forecasters say they have low confidence in amounts of snow for later in the week at this time, due to how long the cold air stays put and the timing of the moisture.
