SEQUIM – Two school-funding measures have passed in the Sequim School District.
Voters said yes to a renewal of the district’s EP&O levy as well as a new levy to pay for maintenance and construction of buildings.
The EP&O levy passed with 56% saying yes and 44 saying no in tallies released last night.
The capital levy passed with 57% yes vote.
The current Educational, Programs and Operations Levy expires next year. The new one will raise about $7.5 million per year for 4 years.
The capital levy is a 4-year, $15 million measure to support the construction, modernization, and remodeling of school facilities. That tax rate would be about $1.86 per $1,000 assessed property value.
