PORT ANGELES – Clallam County Health officials are cancelling COVID-19 vaccination clinics scheduled for this weekend in Port Angeles.
Health officer Dr. Allison Berry says the threat of bad weather prompted them to call off the Saturday and Sunday events set for Port Angeles High School.
Berry says anyone that was scheduled to get a second dose this weekend, will be able to come next weekend. If you were scheduled for a first dose this weekend, you’ll have to reschedule online for the next first-dose clinic set for two weeks from now at Port Angeles High School. Registration for that will open up Wednesday February 24th.
Berry says there is still issues with getting adequate vaccine numbers.
At a briefing this morning, Berry says the bad weather may be to the area’s advantage and moving later in the month she thinks regular vaccinations of thousands of doses will be able to continue into March and April.
Clallam County has now given at least a first dose of vaccine to 24 percent of its population. There have been 965 total COVID cases since the pandemic began and right now 22 active cases. The case rate for the last two weeks is now at 62 per hundred thousand and the positivity rate is down to 2.4 percent.
