Contrary to League vote, Sequim and PA School Districts plan to host sports with spectators

PORT ANGELES – Port Angeles and Sequim School Districts have announced a plan to partner together and get back to hosting sports events that can safely include spectators.

The plan would go against the league’s position, which voted not to allow spectators during athletic events.

District officials are making arrangements to host events for all three traditional seasons of sports during the school year, including inner league competitions, though there will be no statewide events taking place.

Districts will only allow parents, guardians and students at the home school to attend a competition. The number of spectators will vary depending on the sport. Details on tickets for family and student spectators will be announced next week.
