Battelle Labs in Sequim seeking contractors

By Pepper Fisher

SEQUIM – Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, a division of Battelle with the Department of Energy, is planning what sounds like a major expansion of their operation at Sequim Bay.

They’re looking for architects, engineers, prime contractors and subcontractors to get the work done, and will be hosting a webinar on Zoom this Thursday to further explain who and what they’re looking for.

Here’s Media spokesperson Brianna Yi.

“We’ve got some really great projects that are coming up, including some renovation of our existing buildings on campus, some new buildings being built, upcoming in the next couple of years, and we really want to get that information out to people who might be interested and able to do that work with us.”

The Sequim facility, known as the Marine and Coastal Research Laboratory, is the US Department of Energy’s only marine research facility. They describe their work there as marine-based research focused on helping the nation achieve sustainable energy, a sustaining environment, and coastal security.

In this case, scientists need not apply, but if you’re an architect, construction engineer or contractor, you may want to join them this Thursday, March 25 from 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. by registering here.
