CENTRAL POINT, Ore. (KATU) – State troopers in Oregon found nearly 65 pounds of cocaine hidden in the door panels of an SUV during a traffic stop on Interstate 5 Wednesday morning.
Shortly after 9 a.m., a senior trooper pulled over the driver of a Ford Explorer along I-5 for following another driver too close.
During the stop, the trooper said they noticed “signs of criminal activity” and they initiated a consent search of the vehicle.
They ended up finding about 65 pounds of suspected cocaine hidden in the voids of the vehicle’s rear doors.
The driver, Gerardo Soriano of South Gate, California was arrested on unlawful possession and delivery of cocaine. He was later booked into the Jackson County Jail.
