PA Schools increasing in-person class time

PORT ANGELES – Port Angeles School District will be increasing in-person class time for students beginning next month.

The district yesterday announced the move will take effect April 12th, after students return from spring break.

That’s when elementary students will switch to what they’re calling an AM/PM half-day model where students will attend school for 2 hours and 40 minutes five days a week.

“A” students in the current hybrid model will attend class from 7:45-10:35, and B students will attend from 12:15-3:05.

Middle school and high school kids will continue their AB hybrid model on April 12; but each day will be extended to include all periods. That means teachers will see their students twice a week instead of once a week.

District officials say they’ve set a goal for all students to return to 100% in-person learning by the fall of this year.
