Vandalism with threats and racial slurs discovered at PAHS

PORT ANGELES – Port Angeles School District and police officials say they don’t think there is an eminent threat after graffiti with racial slurs was discovered at Port Angeles High School.

In a letter sent to parents Wednesday, the district said they recently discovered vandalism in an undisclosed location. The vandalism included racial slurs and a threat of violence, and they immediately contacted local law enforcement.

Port Angeles Police Department does not believe it to be credible threat at this point, and classes will continue as usual. But the district plans to have additional police officers and school security on campus today.

Custodial staff was able to clean up the graffiti before it was viewed by students or additional staff. Surveillance footage has been reviewed, and officials believe to have identified the suspected student.
