WALLA WALLA, Wash. (AP) — The Department of Corrections says an officer working at the Washington State Penitentiary in Walla Walla was hurt by an inmate.
Corrections spokesperson Jacque Coe reported only that the officer sustained serious injuries, and was attacked by a man in a residential unit at the prison Thursday afternoon.
Coe says the West Complex of the penitentiary was placed on “restricted movement” Thursday as local law enforcement investigated the assault.
