PORT ANGELES — Clallam County Health Officer Dr. Allison Berry says about 30 people took advantage of the “Shot and a Beer” vaccination event at the Barhop Brewery in Port Angeles this weekend. They had a similar event Monday afternoon.
Not huge numbers, but Berry says it was dozens of people who wouldn’t have otherwise been vaccinated.
Dr. Berry says they’ll spend of this week vaccinating at schools. Pfizer’s COVID vaccine has been approved for 12–15-year olds.
Also, over the weekend, 15 new cases reported, all on Saturday with no cases reported Sunday. Berry. says they were all contacts of known cases and all of them people who were already in quarantine.
She added that she is cautiously optimistic that we’re nearing the end of the latest surge of cases, all traced to large gatherings last month.
