No injuries reported in car/log truck smash-up

CLALLAM COUNTY – A log truck rolled over along Highway 101 Thursday morning west of Port Angeles near Grannie’s Restaurant, spilling its load and reducing traffic to one lane for about an hour.

Clallam 2 Fire Rescue reports the accident happened just before 7:00am. Troopers say the driver of an SUV, 30-year-old Tina Feuerstein, pulled onto the right shoulder of the road and, without signaling, attempted a U-turn in front of the log truck. The truck driver tried to steer clear but struck the SUV before crossing the highway and tipping. The SUV was spun around and came to rest on the roadway. No injuries were reported.

The highway was reduced to alternating traffic until the logs were loaded onto another truck and the accident cleared some 3 or 4 hours later.

Feuerstein was cited for Improper Lane Usage.
