Brief crime spree ends in arrest near casino

BLYN – A Sequim Police K-9 team and Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man Wednesday night allegedly caught on security video shoplifting a case of beer from the Tribe’s Longhouse store and later damaging at least 10 cars at the 7 Cedars Casino parking lot.

29-year-old Luke Lindsey, whose last known address was in Port Ludlow, ran away from law enforcement as they arrived and disappeared for a time into a dense thicket of brambles south of the Longhouse.

He was located a few minutes later and taken into custody.

Surveillance video shows Lindsey walking around the parking lot randomly hitting cars with a beer bottle and a sock that held some kind of heavy object. He also damaged hundreds of dollars’ worth of lighting fixtures at the local fire district building.

Lindsey was booked for the charges of Vehicle Prowl, Theft and Malicious Mischief. Anyone with damage to their vehicles from this incident is asked to call Dispatch at 360-417-2459 to file a report.
