Morse Creek median project will create temporary bottleneck starting June 2

PORT ANGELES – The Department of Transportation is telling us that after Memorial Day, travelers on Highway 101 near Port Angeles will want to plan for potential daytime delays as construction continues to improve safety at Morse Creek.

Construction crews will close one lane in both directions during weekday daytime hours beginning Wednesday, June 2. The lane closures allow freshly poured median curbs and gutters to cure. There may be times when there is little to no work occurring during the curing process. This work will last through mid-summer.

Overnight lane closures for construction at Morse Creek will continue through fall 2021.

No lane closures are scheduled over holidays or weekends.

In 2019 the DOT designated the Morse Creek section of HWY 101 one of their highest priority safety projects in the state.
