OMC Foundation presents more than $417K in donations

PORT ANGELES — The OMC Foundation presented $100,000 to Olympic Medical Center at the OMC Commissioner’s meeting Wednesday. The latest donation will be used to fund a backup generator for the OMC Medical Office Building.

Foundation Executive Director Bruce Skinner said the Foundation has also raised record amounts for Red, Set, Go and its Duck Race earlier this year, leading the organization to make donations of $417,734 so far this year.

In addition, the Foundation recognized a gift of a house located adjacent to the OMC Port Angeles campus donated by Lloyd Bedinger.

Bedinger is the son of Helen Rice, who passed away at 106 years old in March of 2020, after living in the house for over 60 years. Rice was a former hospital employee. Bedinger said since the hospital provided his mom with a job, he wanted to give the house back to them.
