CLALLAM COUNTY – The Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe and Clallam County Health and Human Services have a $50 gift card waiting for any school student who shows up at any of their upcoming student vaccination events, even if they’ve already been vaccinated.
The Tribe and Clallam County are splitting the cost of the Rewards cards, and Director of Health Services Brent Simcosky says “Reward” is the key word.
“Every kid can use $50 for school supplies or clothes or whatever, and we just want to reward the kids that go out and get vaccinated to make sure that their classroom is safe. And what we really want to show our community is that if we work together, we can make a difference, and that’s what this is all about.”
In Port Angeles, the vaccination event will take place at this Saturday’s Back to School Fair at the Lincoln Center on West 9th Street.
They’ll also be jabbing arms during the Sequim District’s Back to School Fair on Saturday, August 28. It will be a drive thru only event in the stadium parking lot on Fir Street. See the District web site for the timetable.
Sequim Timberwolf days on the 31st will also host an event at the Middle School.
Students in Forks can get their $50 Reward cards at the Public Health Office on August 26 and September 2.
Students under 18 will need parental consent (form here), and students who have already been vaccinated will need to bring their vaccination card.
