PORT ANGELES – 29-year-old Britt Needham of Port Angeles was sentenced to more than 6 years in prison after pleading guilty to Attempted Robbery with Infliction of Bodily Injury earlier this month.
The case stems from an incident on May 19 when Port Angeles police were called to an apartment building near 2nd and Peabody. Needham approached the victim of the assault asking for a ride and money. The victim said no and tried to walk away, but Needham tried to grab his wallet.
When the victim turned in an effort to prevent his wallet from being stolen he fell to the pavement and broke his hip and wrist.
The investigation resulted in probable cause to arrest Needham for Robbery in the 1st Degree.
Two days later Officer Whitney Fairbanks observed Needham on Highway 101 near Fairmount and arrested him.
