PORT ANGELES — Effective today, Clallam County’s burn ban has been reduced.
The fire marshal says recent rains have moved the fire threat level back to moderate.
Recreational fires and use of charcoal briquettes are now allowed in unincorporated Clallam County.
The National Park and DNR regulate their properties separately from the county so check with their respective requirements on their properties.
Recreational fires are still limited to 3-foot diameter and 24 inches in height.
Urban Growth areas including Port Angeles, Sequim, Carlsborg, Forks, Joyce, Clallam Bay, and Sekiu are restricted from outdoor burning as through Washington State law.
The burn ban will be lifted entirely on October 1, 2021.
