FORKS – Four people, including children, were hurt when a pickup rolled over on Highway 101 east of Forks.
It happened about 5:30 Tuesday night. State Patrol Troopers say a Toyota Tacoma pickup driven by 37-year-old Filadelfo Lopez of Forks suffered a mechanical malfunction as Lopez was attempting to pass another car.
Lopez, 33-year-old Nicole Konopaski, a 12-year-old boy, and a four-year-old boy were all hurt. The four-year-old was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center, the others were taken to Forks Hospital.
Troopers say the youngest child was not in a proper child seat, but the others were wearing seatbelts. They are charging Lopez with DUI, vehicular assault, and defective child restraints.
