PORT ANGELES – A Port Angeles woman plans to paddleboard across the Strait of Juan de Fuca this weekend.
On Sunday, weather permitting, 32-year-old Hannah Nelson will attempt to stand up paddleboard from Port Angeles to Victoria.
The ER nurse and local mom says she’s paddling to raise awareness about domestic violence. She started a fundraising initiative this summer called “Stand Up Against Domestic Violence”. She’s been raising money to benefit Healthy Families of Clallam County. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Nelson has been selling T-shirts and Pullovers and tank tops that have her art on them, printed by a local screen printer.
