
FORKS – Clallam County Detectives are investigating a shooting Monday morning in Forks that left a 69-year-old logging truck driver wounded in the leg.
Deputies got the call just after 3:00am from a home on Calawah Way in Forks.
The man told deputies he had been shot while climbing into his logging truck to go to work. He says he heard multiple gun shots striking the side of his truck before one of the bullets hit him in the leg.
The victim believes he may have interrupted a vehicle prowl at his residence but says he didn’t see who shot at him.
Deputies secured the shooting scene and located the firearm suspected in the shooting on scene.
The case and circumstances surrounding the shooting are under investigation. There is no indication the public is in any immediate danger.
The man was transported to the Forks Community Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and was scheduled to be transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
