FORKS – The wife of a man shot earlier this week in Forks has been arrested for attempted murder.

Yesterday Clallam County Sheriff’s detectives interviewed and arrested 66-year-old Kay Ann Beebe. Investigators says Beebe admitted to intentionally shooting her husband on Monday morning.

Early Monday morning, deputies were called to a residence in the 1400 block of Calawah Way on reports a man had been shot while getting into his logging truck to go to work.

Deputies found 69-year-old David E. Beebe with a gunshot wound to his leg. David Beebe had been stepping up into his logging truck when he heard multiple gun shots which struck the side of his truck in addition to the one that hit him in the leg. Beebe said he believed he may have interrupted a vehicle prowl at his residence but said he did not see who had shot at him. Mr. Beebe was transported to the Forks Hospital and later transferred to the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle.

Deputies say they found a total of thirteen shell casings at the scene. The log truck was struck multiple times, and an adjacent residence was struck by two rounds.

The Prosecutor is now reviewing the case for formal charges.
