PORT ANGELES – The Winter Ice Village skating rink in downtown Port Angeles opens tomorrow at 9:00am.
You can buy tickets in advance at wintericevillage.org. While you’re there you might consider signing up to be a volunteer and earn free skate time.
Chamber of Commerce Director Marc Abshire, appearing on KONP’s Morning Scramble earlier this week, had another bit of advice while you’re visiting the website.
“The other big message for everybody is, get your waivers done. You can do them at when they show up…”
“It’s kind of a pain because there’s a line sometimes.”
“It can cause a line, but it’s pretty quick, actually. But, you know, the pro tip is, get your waiver done now. And if you did it for last season, you still gotta do it again.”
Just to clarify, these are liability waivers in case someone gets hurt, and a requirement of the company that rents the equipment. Nothing to do with coronavirus.
The cost is $15 for adults, all day. $10 for kids. A season pass is $150, good until January 3. There are also family rates starting with a family of 4 for $40. Every extra kid is $5.
Enjoy special “Snow Day Pricing” on all days local schools are closed for a snow day. Snow Day prices are $5 for anyone 18 years old or younger.
The Port Angeles Winter Ice Village opens Friday and remains open daily until January 3 from 9-9. 121 West Front Street.
“I recommend it, even if you’re not a skater. Just come down to do one. It’s just fun. You will smile. Like, it’s a guaranteed smile. Just do it.”
