PC Pirates notch two road wins

EDMONDS — The fourth ranked Peninsula Pirates used former Sequim Wolf Hope Glasser to hit for twenty-five points and pull down thirteen rebounds in a 61-41 win over the Edmonds Tritons. Glasser is the daughter of Sequim Wolf boys basketball Head Coach Greg Glasser. After a 12-12 1st quarter tie, the Pirates outscored Edmonds 20-4 in the second quarter for a 32-16 halftime lead. Former Port Angeles Roughrider Madison Cooke hit for nine points and pulled down nine rebounds. Pirate guard Ariyanna Camacho-Vil hit three 3 balls for nine points. The Pirates are now 3-1 in Northern Division play and 12-3 overall. The Pirates will host Everett this Saturday afternoon at 4 pm.

The Peninsula Pirates men’s basketball team earned another tough, grind it out road win at Edmonds beating the Tritons 89-77. Pirate Head Coach Donald Rollman watched his team burn the nets for a sizzling 57% from the field and hitting 12 of 23 from the 3-point stripe for 52% 3 Pirates scored at least twenty points. Roosevelt Williams led the way with twenty-two points and pulled down eight rebounds and dished out five assists. Jaylin Reed hit for twenty points to go with six rebounds and three steals. Rayshawn Harris did his magic again off the bench hitting for twenty points and dishing out three assists. The Pirates are now 3-1 in Northern Division play and 11-5 overall. The Pirates will host Everett Saturday night.

In high-school action tonight the Port Angeles Boys will be at Sequim while the Olympic league Championship could be decided in Port Angeles as Sequim puts its unbeaten league record on the line against the Roughriders. Port Angeles has just one league loss. Both games tip off at 7 pm
