Two of the top ten class AA boys basketball teams Port Angeles and Sehome battled in a classic battle Friday night at Roughrider Gym and basketball fans loved what they saw. Port Angeles down thirteen with 4 minutes left in the first half fought back for a rewarding 68-64 win over a super talented well coached team. Port Angeles outscored Sehome 13 – 4 in the last 3 minutes of the half to make it a 34-32 lead for Sehome. Then, in a 5-minute span in the third quarter, Sophomore Parker Nickerson put on a shooting clinic. The Sehome defense made the mistake of leaving Nickerson wide open on the right baseline where he drilled 3, 3 balls and another field goal to give the Roughriders some breathing room with an 8-point lead at the end of 3, 54-46. Sehome pulled within 2, 59-57 with 1:10 left. Roughrider Sr point guard Xander Maestas hit a 3-point money ball with a minute left to give the Roughriders a 5-point lead. Maestas had eighteen points on the night and might have played the best game of his career! Roughrider top gun Wyatt Dunning went four for four from the line down the stretch to give the Roughriders a big time 68-64 win. Wyatt Dunning lead the way with twenty points and John Vaara added fourteen.

Saturday afternoon the Roughriders played their third game in 3 days knocking off Sequim 55-33 in Roughrider Gym. Wyatt Dunning lead the way with twenty points and John Vaara hit for sixteen.
