
SHORELINE — Allison Crumb’s 6th ranked Peninsula College Pirates went to Shoreline and played up to their ranking blowing out a 4-1 Dolphin team 82-61 in a game that was never close. Five Pirates scored in double figures. Former Sequim Wolf Hope Glasser continues her all-NWAC play, hitting for fourteen points and pulling down nine boards. Kelli -Jade Smith the versatile frosh out of Hilo, Hawaii hit for thirteen points pulled down four boards, dished out three assists and had 2 blocks. Former Roughrider point guard Millie Long was again outstanding attacking the paint. Long had thirteen points, five boards, four assists and four steals. Former PA Roughrider Madison Cooke hit for thirteen points had six rebounds and four steals. Fr. Adam Kaganak; whose village Scammon Bay, Alaska is closer to Russia than Port Angeles; hit for ten points and Fr. Ituau Tuisaula out of Soldonta, Alaska had nine points and pulled down eleven boards. The Pirates are now 6-1in Conference play one game behind Whatcom. The Pirates host Skagit Wednesday night at 5 pm.

The Peninsula Pirate men lost a 10- point second half lead losing to first place Northern Conference leader Shoreline 74-67. The Pirates led at the break 42-34 but were outscored 40-25 in the second half. Stats wise the game was even except points off turnovers. Shoreline outscored the Pirates 21-11 in that category. Jaylin Reed led the Pirates with seventeen points while pulling down eight rebounds. Isaiah Sampson was dominant in the low blocks powering in seventeen points with six boards and three blocked shots.
The Pirates are now 4-3 in conference play and 12-7 overall. The Pirates host #1 ranked Skagit Wednesday night a team the Pirates beat at Mount Vernon earlier in the season.
