KENT, Wash. (AP) — A disabled woman who spent nine days in an abandoned car that was towed to an impound lot has been found by police and is now receiving urgent medical care.
The Kent Police Department is investigating the incident, but haven’t said yet whether they’re pursuing criminal charges against the victim’s mother, who parked her car with her disabled daughter inside at a Kent gas station before leaving the scene. The victim’s sister called police to report she hadn’t seen her sister for days. Police eventually called the impound service and asked them to check the car, where the woman was found still alive, despite freezing temperatures, in the back seat under a pile of clothing.
She was rushed to a hospital and in serious condition.
