PORT ANGELES – A Port Orchard man is in critical condition after plowing the Tesla he was driving into the side of a house.
It happened about 9:30 last night at 883 Monroe Road southeast of Port Angeles. Responding units discovered that a 2018 Tesla had wrecked into the side of the residence. The driver of the car was trapped inside the car. Deputies identified the driver as 24-year-old Robert T. Escalante of Port Orchard, Washington. He was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. No one in the house was hurt.
The collision is being investigated as a probable DUI.
