PORT ANGELES — The Peninsula Pirates men’s basketball team will open 1st round play of the 2022 NWAC basketball tournament Thursday night at 6 pm against the Lane College Titans out of Eugene, Oregon. The tournament will be played at the Price Center on the Everett Community College campus. The tournament is a single elimination format. The winner of the Peninsula – Lane game will play at 5 pm Friday against the winner of the Green River – Yakima game.
The Peninsula Pirates women’s team will open up NWAC tournament play Saturday night at 6 pm against the Northern Idaho Cardinals out of Coeur D’ Alene.. The winner will play at 5 pm Sunday against the winner of the Portland – Centralia game. All the Pirate games will be broadcast live on KONP.

The Port Angeles Roughrider soccer team won their opener beating Forks 7-1. Damon Gunderson scored 2 goals and Dayton Williams, Caden White, Xander Maestas, Josiah Long and Eli Fischer each had a goal. The Roughriders are home tomorrow night against Kingston with a 6:45 start.

The Port Angeles Roughrider Boys Golf team have begun the season 2-0 knocking off North Mason 183- 242. Leading the way for Port Angeles was Edun Bailey shooting a 43, Reid Schmidt was at 44, Nate Anderson shot a 46, Austin Worthington shot a 51 and Dalton Ross shot a 50. The Roughrider Boys and girls travel to Olympic on Thursday.
