PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Roughriders drew a 3-3 tie against Kingston. After conceding 3 goals in the first half to Kingston the Riders rallied to score 3 unanswered goals in the 2nd half to force sudden death overtime and penalty kicks but came up short. Xander Maestas, Marcus Hogan, Caleb Lagrange, Eli Fischer, Kaleb Gagnon, Josiah Long and Damon Gundersen were named players of the match for the Riders.

In high school baseball action, Sequim lost to Bainbridge in a football score 23-22. Port Angeles lost to Bremerton 9-5. Sequim will play at Bremerton tomorrow and Port Angeles travels to North Mason. First pitch for both games is at 4:15 pm.

In girls tennis action today, Port Angeles host North Mason and Sequim is at home against Bremerton. Both matches start at 4 pm.

Port Angeles Roughrider Eve Burke will play in one more basketball game as a Roughrider. Burke was named to the WBCA 2A All State Basketball team that will play against the 1A All State team this Saturday at Kings High school in Shoreline. Tipoff is at 4 pm and can be watched live at Turkpride.tv.
Also making the All State 1B team is Neah Bay Red Devil Oceana Aguire. The 1Bs will play the 2Bs at 2 pm.

The Peninsula Pirates women’s and men’s basketball teams are well represented on the NWAC All Northern Conference Teams. Former Port Angeles Roughrider Millie Long was named the Northern Conference Player of the Year. Long was also named the Defensive Player of the year as well as the Freshman Player of the Year. Former Sequim Wolf Hope Glasser was voted to the 1st team All Northern Conference and named to the All Defensive team. Freshman Keeli Jade-Smith was named to the 2nd Team All Northern Conference and Pirate Head Coach Allison Crumb was voted the Coach of the year.
On the Pirates men’s team, sophomore Jaylin Reed was voted 1st Team All Northern Conference and sophomore Isaac Garcia was voted the Northern Conference Defensive Player of the Year.
