SEQUIM — The City of Sequim and the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce have partnered in another Covid relief program for local businesses.
They’re now offering Small Business Rent Relief Grants to small businesses within the City limits that are currently in arrears on their rent payment by at least two months.
The Sequim City Council has approved an initial $100,000 in funds out of City reserves to support the program.
This grant program is intended to help small brick-and-mortar businesses who are behind in their rent due to impacts from the pandemic. Businesses must have less than 50 employees, have been in operation at least six months prior to the application. They’ll need to have a business plan and be current with all City and State licensing requirements.
Franchises, national chains, and any business owned or partially owned by an individual or immediate family member, manager, or director of the Chamber Executive Committee or a Sequim City Councilor or employee are not eligible for this grant.
Applications for this grant will be accepted until the funding pool is exhausted.
