SEQUIM – In a news release with the heading, “Cooperation Yields Results”, the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Monday a Sequim pair were arrested after Sequim police officers served a warrant at an apartment on Fifth Avenue.
31-year-old Adam Leonard was wanted on a Superior Court warrant and was suspected by the Dept. of Corrections as being a drug dealer. He was found in the apartment hiding inside a box spring.
45-year-old Miranda Niehaus was also there and recognized by officers as having an active DOC warrant as well as a felony Superior Court warrant.
Officers saw evidence of drug sales on the premises, and OPNET got another search warrant that yielded substantial quantities of suspected fentanyl and heroin, as well as digital scales, packaging materials, and a 9mm pistol.
The origin of the firearm, which was found in Niehaus’ purse, is under investigation. Niehaus is prohibited from possessing a firearm due to previous felony convictions.
