PORT ANGELES – The Port Angeles Chamber of Commerce announced the ELEVATE PA 2026 team is planning the second annual Big Spring Spruce Up event to clean Port Angeles’ downtown corridor on May 7 from 9:00am to 1:00pm.
Chamber Executive Director Marc Abshire was on Wednesday’s KONP “Morning Scramble” to discuss the project and its future.
“It’s an all-day event that really is not an all day event.” “It’s not. It’s 9 a.m. to noon. And then at noon we are going to have food and music. So, just to celebrate. And in the future years, we expect this to be even more of a festival type of atmosphere. So it’s kind of growing in that direction, hopefully.”
Several community clubs are expected to sign up once again to lead cleanup efforts. You are welcome to show up at your leisure, but it’s preferred that you sign up in advance to be
assigned to one of the nine project sections.
Participants are encouraged to bring gloves and tools including square-faced shovels, garden rakes, brooms, and buckets.
